Just about every weekend I'm competing in races of distances ranging from 5K to an Ultra, many of which are out of town. My goal at the moment is to complete 40 Marathons before the age of 40.....
How it all started
I started off with my first 5K Run in Birmingham in September 2005. My training in the early years was just a short run round the bloke of flats we use to live (2-3 Miles), then it gradually increased to 2 rounds... then 3 rounds etc! My mileage started to build up and after a year in July 2006 I started to run my first 10K.
The journey of my first Full Marathon started at the New York City Marathon 2009 (** Click here - Watch me struggling at 08.30 on the far right side)

What an amazing blog you've created.
It must have taken an incredible amount of effort to put all of this together. I can't imagine how much time it must have taken you.
It's very well laid out and very enjoyable to browse through.
Well done, May.
Hi, what a fabulous idea - 40 marathons before you are 40! I can't seem to see on this blog how long you have got to go to get the remaining ones in!! When are you 40?! lol Which has been your favourite marathon so far?! As someone who has just completed her first marathon I am amazed that you can keep going! Well done, you are an inspiration! x
